Time calculations can be surprisingly complex due to leap years, varying month lengths, and time zones.

1. Business Days vs Calendar Days

When contracts specify "30 days," it's vital to clarify if they mean calendar days or business days (excluding weekends and public holidays).

2. UTC and Time Zones

Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) is the world's time standard. All local time zones are expressed as positive or negative offsets from UTC.

3. The Leap Year Rule

A year is a leap year if it is divisible by 4. However, century years (like 1900) are NOT leap years unless they are also divisible by 400 (like 2000).
